A successful rodeo owner doesn’t believe in love at first sight, but there’s nothing he won’t do to help his tribe — even propose a marriage of convenience to a single mom who’s fallen on hard times.
Wayne Whitaker (or Chief Lighthorse, as his fellow Comanches prefer to call him) is constantly putting out fires on their poverty-stricken, crime-ridden reservation. The old-timers on his squabbling tribal council claim it’s because he’s too young, too inexperienced, and too single to run both the tribe and his family’s rodeo business. What they don’t understand is that he wants to be married. He just hadn’t met the one yet.
While helping a seamstress and her son during a medical emergency, he finally experiences that elusive spark of attraction. Is this what love feels like? Or will his growing feelings for her end up being yet another fire he’ll have to put out?
